What is 'BirdWatching'
Birdwatching is a scientific activity that most casual. And vice versa too, Birdwatching is an activity that most scientific sport ... (Bas van Balen)
The definition is meant by Birdwatching is the observation of birds in nature. People who make observations of bird called a Birdwatcher. Observations of birds is not always a monopoly of biologists, but also can be implemented by everyone. Observations of birds at first condensed with a scientific mission, subsequently developed into an enjoyable hobby for the layman.
To make observations or become an observer is actually quite easy. Birds are the most common animals found anywhere, even in an urban. With only present in one location and provision of a strong desire to see and understand the natural phenomenon of course, already be enough capital. The tools look like binoculars are not always absolutely necessary. Binoculars needed in special circumstances, such as object distance far enough, the object can not be approached, or indeed want to observe more details.
There are some things that need to be prepared before making the observation of birds. When making observations should not wear clothes with flashy colors. Try to wear clothing with the color of a camouflaged with their surroundings, so that birds are not disturbed by the presence of observers.Need to bring a small notebook to record the bird species found, or to sketch the kind that have not been identified. Do not over rely on the memories, because in line with the passage of time the information can be forgotten.Identification guide book will be helpful, especially when visiting new areas, or still a novice observer. Once again, it is not wise to rely on memory alone.
Observations should be performed as early as possible, because the birds most active during the morning. In the afternoon can also be done, but usually not as active as birds that were found in the morning. To the birds in coastal areas is still possible to be observed when the blazing sun, because relatively unaffected by the hot conditions. The ideal position when the observation is with his back to the sun, or on the side. If facing directly towards the coming of light, then the object will appear dark or be a silhouette, and make the eyes glare.Walk slowly and do not speak loudly so that the bird was not surprised. A moment of silence at a point of observation will be helpful, because when birds come back will feel comfortable, assuming the observer as part of its environment.
Ability to recognize and identify the problem simply habit. More and more, or frequent observations, then the easier it will eventually recognize a type. But there are some types that still require identification in order to ensure the complex type.
Some travel insights I discovered while travelling the web (and the world)!
- Some of the best fiction writers got their start writing airline menus.
Erma Bombeck (and bus timetables - Alan McBride) - If God wanted us to fly, He would have given us tickets.
Mel Brook - A hundred years ago, it could take you the better part of a year to get from New York to California, whereas today, because of equipment problems at Chicago’s O'Hare, you can't get there at all.'
Dave Barry - They mention that it's a non-stop flight. Well, I must say I don't care for that sort of thing. Call me old-fashioned but I insist that my flight stop. Preferably at an airport.
George Carlin - he saying ‘Getting there is half the fun’ became obsolete with the advent of commercial airlines. Henry J. Tillman
Useful tips departmentIf you don’t eat the food you’ll die anyway;-) - If you have any allergies it’s a good idea to learn the names of the foods (or just what causes your allergic reaction) in the languages of the countries you’re visiting. Then in a restaurant you’ll able to say “no nuts” or “no dairy” and have them understand you. Do make sure you get it right otherwise you may get extra!
- If you’re going away for a long trip consider a dental appointment before you go. It’s a lot cheaper than having a problem overseas.
- When visiting unfamiliar territory go online and get a layout of the airport where you will be arriving as well as an idea of the area you are staying in.
- Don’t ever hire a taxi who has touted himself to you in the airport arrivals. Head for the rank and a metered cab. This may avoid you falling foul of unscrupulous taxi drivers etc., I think there may be some out there: be careful!
- If the hotel has an in-room safe use it and keep all your valuables in there. If the safe is an electronic one, wipe the touch keys down before operating it with a damp cloth and then dry it before entering your secret code.
- Try to do this every time you use the safe. Some of those unscrupulous ones don’t just drive taxis! Also wipe down the pad after you have keyed in your code and closed the door firmly.
Finally, when locked, press all the keys / numbers firmly. Doing this may set off a small alarm from the safe but it stops quickly and no one will pay any attention (!)
- Check on your first day whether you need to reconfirm your next flight, if so do it then. Some airlines do not require this anymore but it is still worthwhile calling them so that they at least have your contact details in case the flight is delayed or whatever. If it is delayed, you’ll have a better chance at re-booking time having done this. Most airlines offer SMS notification too now.
- Make sure if booking rental cars on the Internet that your booking is for the right city and country
